If 80% of future jobs have YET to be invented, how do we prepare today's student for tomorrow?8/12/2015 The simple answer - technology! Technology can no longer be viewed as an 'elective' it must be viewed as an essential life skill. Not sure if you support my opinion? Check out these websites: Still not sure? Look at these faces... School is officially in session! The halls are filled with moving bodies, the classrooms smell of pencil shavings and the kids are smiling and giggling. YES! Smiles and giggles are flooding the building. The first few days of school were spent together forming friendships and learning more about one another while learning the procedures and routines of the school day. If you've not yet done so, check out our Facebook page for photos from the first few days! Starting Monday, we kick in the academics and class switching. Look for an email coming to parents soon that will give information on how to access the Parent portal for grades and homework assignments. Utilization of this electronic tool will enable you to support your child and monitor their progress. Students are give a HOMEWORK LOG in which they are to record assignments. This organizational tool is meant to help them with organization and managing due dates. Feel free to ask to see their composition book "Homework Log" to review nightly homework. You may wish to keep the parent portal component of seeing Homework a guarded bit of knowledge. If the children know that they can go online to check on homework, they will abandon the responsibility of logging their tasks in their journal and will not be able to successfully pack the needed supplies to take home to complete tasks. Below is a sample of how to log homework in the log. We need your support in helping your child to learn organization so that they can be best prepared for the school year. We invite you to follow us on Facebook. It's just another way for us to help keep you informed of what's happening at school.

Is it wrong to exhale a large sigh of relief for another school year to come to a close? We've worked hard this year. We've faced obstacle after obstacle and have overcome and exceeded achievement! Glory goes exclusively to God for our triumphs this year.
We've been blessed with an amazing teaching team that has shown mercy, grace and unconditional love. Through these amazing teachers (Mr. Dan, Mrs. Tracy, Mrs. Amanda & Mrs. Alis) our children have seen some of the character traits of our Father. The students delivered to us from God this year have made us all stronger and better. Some left during the year and we're thankful to have had the opportunity to share life with them; and others joined our Seamark school family later. Regardless of when you arrive or leave, you're always part of the Seamark School family and we love you! Our students have made gains spiritually, emotionally, socially and academically. PRAISE!! The Teaching Team could not be any more proud of their hard work. And, we have 100% promotion rate this school year - without anyone requiring extended studies this summer! <yippppeee!> Today we recognized Mrs. Tracy's season of being a part of the Seamark School Teaching Team since the 2010-11 school year. She is stepping down from her part-time teaching role as an answer to God's calling for her to exclusively be a full-time houseparent. She will continue to be a vital part of Seamark Ranch and will still remain engaged at the school. Wishing you a relaxing and safe summer. For the students, don't forget to exercise your brain a minimum of 40 minutes a day by completing activities inside your red Summer Folder. God bless each and every one of you! Father, thank you for such a lovely day for our field trip! The kids greatly enjoyed the helicopter simulator! Being able to climb aboard and mock-fly was fun too! Lunch and a walking tour of some aircraft. Our day ended with some of the coolest 'bug-ologists' EVER! We learned so much from the wonderful people at the Entomology Center. Scientist + Soldier = #DreamofBetter
The 1st Annual Art Show/Silent Auction was a huge success. The students were so proud to show guests their art work. Today students, teachers and volunteers gathered at the horse barn for some old-fashioned F-U-N!. We celebrated another year of equine with our fabulous volunteers. Our students LOVE Equine studies! |
