Mr. Dan and Mrs. Amanda have been working with some of the students in animal husbandry. Preparing them for handling their animals for the upcoming fair. Today they went to the internet for some poultry research. We're so fortunate to have the technology to aid in this research.
In honor of Presidents' Day, we are hosting a Penny War- Sabotage Style. Students and teachers have been divided into two teams in the competition, and winner receives ice cream on Friday, February 20th. Teams are collecting pennies which will count as positive team points. Rolled pennies count as double positive points. Teams can be sabotaged by adding silver coins or dollar bills to their opponent's buckets resulting in negative points. Rolled silver coins count as double negative points! You can donate to a team of your choice! Just contact Renee' at [email protected] or call (904)529-1951 for more information. Proceeds collected will go towards curriculum purchase for 2015-16 school year. Which team will win the 2015 Penny Wars - Sabotage Style? Mr. Dan and Mrs. Amanda teach the children about caring for animals. If you were to ask our students their favorite day of the school week, they'd probably unanimously declare Fridays! Friday mornings, kids are split between Equine and Ranch Management and they love the hands-on experience that Seamark School offers. This year, Friday afternoons have been devoted to a variety of 4-week electives. Students select their elective at the beginning of a session and then commit to 4 weeks. They've enjoyed learning different mediums of art, working on community service projects and this last session of Cooking in the Kitchen. Our Friday afternoon electives could not be a HIT without the wonderful community volunteers that bring their passion to our students. If you would like to volunteer, please contact [email protected] or [email protected] to learn more. |
