Greetings Seamark Parents,
We finished our first full week of school and let me just say we’ve started off on a solid footing! I couldn’t be more pleased with your child! I tried to keep this email short, but there was just so much greatness to share! Grab a glass of water (brain-friendly beverage) and prepare to glow! Here’s some information to keep you current of what’s happened this first week of school.
The teachers made a list of their first FULL week of learning memories and this is what they shared:
Brain Power – We’ve learned two strategies for priming our brain for learning. (1) Sipping water and (2) Hook Ups. Ask your child to share.
Hands-on Science – Mrs. Amanda has made Science FUN! Pictures of the kids working together were sent out on Wednesday!
Technology is ALIVE - The Teaching Team has worked hard to incorporate technology into your child’s daily learning. This week we learned of how to care for the laptops and visited some websites we’ll be using. If you haven’t done so, please visit our school webpage (http://seamarkschool.weebly.com) and vote for the school’s mascot. Spread the word!
Kids are loving the I-LEARN block that allows them to become an expert on a topic of their choice. They’re currently conducting research in which they will share with others via a power point, movie, speech, game, or WHATEVER! Let the creativity flow!!
Planners – Your child is responsible for recording homework each night in their planner. Have it initialed/signed by a parent and returned the following school day. This first week, many of our kids have struggled with recording all of their assignments and have missed a few due dates. We recognize it’s the first week and a habit is being created. We appreciate your support in helping us to develop this habit of responsibility.
We’re off to a strong school-year thanks to each of you!
