Seamark Family & Friends,
We've had another successful week of school. What a great habit to be forming. Here's a recap from the week and a few announcements.
We held a funeral for "I Can't" on Thursday. We listed all the things we 'can't' do and put them in a paper coffin and buried them. Our funeral was authentic with a hearse, grave side service and the placing of memory stones. Pictures will be loaded on this webpage under "MAKING MEMORIES" tab soon. (I'm still collecting photos to compile.)
Our T.H.A.T.T (Take Home and Talk about/ Teach others about ) folders went home for the first time this week. They will continue to go home on Mondays and are due to the following school day. Inside you will see your child's completed work from the past week to help you monitor their performance as well as pertinent school information.
You may have noticed that the school webpage now opens to the "Messages from Mrs. Renee'" page first. This was done so that the most current information would be visible to you at the first screen. Remind texts will be sent to you alerting you of an announcement or photos being uploaded so that you can remain in close contact with the school.
I'm happy to report that the changes in grouping students for Math and Reading has made an immediate and remarkable improvement. This change in schedule was needed in order to meet the needs of our students. Their assignment scores this week reflect this improvement. PRAISE!
We're still tweaking other parts of the instruction but are confident that more improvement is awaiting our children!
We've suspended the 1:1 KTEA-II baseline testing of all children at this time. We will continue to use the www.easycbm.com testing of fluency, reading comprehension and math to help us monitor children's progress.
Thank you for your continued support for our students. Through God's grace, your prayers and support given to us , we have strength to make the learning leaps we're making
